What Our Clients Are Saying

First of all, the foreman and crew were progressional and seem to have done a great job. We’ll know for sure when there’s another heavy rain, but I am happy with their work. Our issue with this company is expectations vs results. The person who came to our house, Markus, told us the job would definitely take one day, but when the crew... arrived they told us this was not at all realistic. We had to start the work on a Tuesday and have it finished today, this Friday, so now this brings us to another three days without being able to use the basement. The other issue is the clean space finish in the basement. This additional finish was $500 and looked great in the pictures. Turns out, since we have stone walls they had to use a different material than advertised—for the same price, of course. It looks terrible! It honestly looks like a bunch of white hefty bags have were taped to our walls. I get that different materials might need to be used for stone walls, but this should have been discussed during the estimate. I’ll be happy if the basement is waterproofed but based on the overall experience and final aesthetic result, we’re unlikely to recommend this company to others.read more

I'm writing this review a long time overdue, but also just the right time as well. I purchased a home and within 6 months of moving it we had a BIG issue on our hands. I was given the name of this company through a family friend and when I called I knew things were starting to look up. We had a representative come to give us an estimate and... scheduled work to be done. When it was time for the project the workers were prompt polite and clean. They kept us informed on how the job was coming along and even showed us what was happening to cause the issue being fixed. They said their work is guaranteed and luckily so far I've had NO issues since. I had ValueDry do a second job at my home to fix a separate issue and so far my home has been dry ever since. They are knowledgeable in their line of work and will find the best solution for you. Everyone I spoke to from the office to the workers were very nice. My family member also had work done through ValueDry and her issue has been solved. Her issue was a long standing issue and she has spent many dollars to no prevail until ValueDry. If you were to ask me for any water issues in your home the only people I would tell you to call are these guys. Thank you ValueDry for saving my investment. And thank you for being genuinely nice.read more

Beware: the salesman took a quick look around and determined I needed the most expensive, invasive solution. He said EVERYONE needs french drains, that he never advises people otherwise. Whaat? I was a consumer reporter for years, here's what I learned from my reporting: first, have a building engineer with nothing to sell you measure the grading... around your house, ensure the downspouts and rainwater are leading water away from your house, extend the window wells. Try those things first. And know if you are pressured into signing a contract on the spot, federal law allows you three days to tear it up. Also if you're seeing water in your basement, get your home tested for mold.read more

I called this company on a Sunday ; my call was returned first thing the following Monday . A representative was at my home that same Monday . I had met with value dry and two other companies ( which I won’t name). Value dry was able to start work on my leaky basement that Wednesday and was completed that Thursday. My basement would always leak... after any amount of rain . I am happy to say since value dry waterproofed my basement I have not had any issues with water . They are expensive but money spent was well worth it .read more

Highly recommend! Markus came out and addressed the problems while coming up with the solutions. He went above and beyond. I had several contractors come out, but none of them were as well spoken about how to fix my leaky basement like Markus. From start to finish these guys proved themselves to be the best in the business. I recommend them... emphatically!read more

We had an excellent experience with Value Dry Waterproofing. The owner and CEO is truly knowledgeable and hands on, which has trickled down to the entire team. We would highly recommend Value Dry to all of our neighbors and friends who have waterproofing needs.

Said I couldn’t get a free estimate unless my husband was present because they want all home owners present. I’m specifically taking two weeks off before I go back to work to address house issues and not one of the several other groups I’ve worked with has requested my husbands presence. He’s doing a residency at Hopkins, working 80 hours... per week with an unpredictable schedule so this was not a realistic option for us. Extremely irritating.read more

This is the most reliable company ever! After today's huge storm my Arlington sump pump was acting up. I called Value Dry and within 2 hours my sump pump was fixed. Dave was courteous and an expert! Jim Ketterer runs a top notch company. I wouldn't use anyone else. Thanks Jim and Dave!

We have had a wonderful experience with Value Dry Waterproofing. They are punctual, honest, and transparent. They responded quickly to our calls and have been very responsive to our needs. We even called the estimator on a Sunday morning and he showed up at our house Sunday afternoon to help us diagnose our problem. This speaks to the integrity of... those in the company. They truly care about helping out their customers. We are confident in our waterproofing job and highly recommend Jim and the whole Value Dry team to anyone looking to get any sort of home waterproofing done. Don't be fooled by other pop-up companies who will likely not be in existence in a few years. These guys are the real deal and offer warranties unlike any other company. We interviewed numerous companies and settled on Value Dry based on their reviews and high ratings and we are thoroughly impressed. Highly recommend!read more

We decided to go with Value Dry for multiple water and humidity issues we were having in our basement. Brittany, our inspector, was knowledgeable and very understanding of our issues. We have since recommended her to several of our neighbors who were experiencing the same issues and they couldn’t be happier! Please don’t hesitate to ask for... her as her and the team at Value Dry are all top notch.read more

Phenomenal! Value Dry was a referral from another small local company whom I implicitly trust. Markus, their VP, came out to give us a proposal and quote. We then got proposals from two other local companies. Though Value Dry was not the lowest quote, we felt by far the most comfortable using them. And we are very glad we did. Our entire... basement, which is entirely below grade, has (had!) water seepage due to hydrostatic pressure (water is forced into the house from underground), especially this last year with all of the rain we've had. And we have a huge basement. Markus proposed a new french drain around the entire interior perimeter of our basement, all of the exterior walls: 210 linear feet in total (we have a big basement). He explained in-depth what they proposed to do and why and how. They also added a second sump pump for us. And a battery back-up pump. They sent a crew of just three guys. Roger was the foreman, and you just have to love that guy. Great personality and he calmly and politely answered every question I had (I'm a detail freak). They were fantastic. They kept everything as clean as possible (not completely, but you can only do so much for concrete dust from jackhammers). Their work was very detail-oriented. It was cool seeing the destruction followed by the construction, laying down the new PVC underground drainage pipes, the new concrete on top of it, etc. Roger and I had discussions throughout the week about how best to do several things, like where and how to place the clean-outs (we have two) for the pipes. Bottom line: Look no further. They are honest. Not too expensive. And they deliver exactly what they say they will. Also, just a few weeks after completing our basement they did a smaller job for my in-laws, also local. They were just as happy with their work and with both Markus and Roger and his crew as we were. So this is really two 5 star reviews in one!read more

You would be hard pressed to find a better waterproofing company in Maryland, Washington DC or Virginia. I have been impressed with every person I have worked with at Value Dry Waterproofing and would gladly recommend them to anyone who is dealing with water in their basement. Prior to having our water issues resolved in our basement, we would... worry every time we would have a rain storm. Having an interior drainage system and sump pumps installed relives that stress, and I no longer have to worry about being close to home every time we have heavy rain. I like dealing with companies that care about their customers and go above and beyond with customer service. Value Dry Waterproofing in Maryland is one of those companies. Call them and get an estimate. The peace of mind knowing you won’t be coming home to a flooded basement is priceless.read more

I would give this company 5 stars if they improve their call center/answering service. When you speak with someone not in the office, you never know if your message will get relayed. But when we have dealt with a staff person -- receptionist, scheduler, workers -- they have been fantastic. They respond quickly, are honest, and stand by their... warranty. Highly recommend them!read more

They’re “Value is Dry!”. Assessor was boasting that their sump pump system will last 7days on battery during power outage,.yet they didn’t install a battery in our pump-saying it’s in the contract that says “recommended”. I know we haggled for price but not to the extent that they gonna cut us down on quality and items without... telling us upront. And speaking of which, after a yr of waterproofing our basement, there’s still some water coming in so we called in and had to wait for “2 Months” before being serviced,.We have to move away our stuff again and slept on the floor upstairs.Workers came to tear the entire wall this time and extend the barrier because they only put moisture barrier 3 feet high.which didn’t work, thing is,our bedroom already has new painted drywalls and floor carpets. They didn’t work on it same day saying they “don’t do it!” We have to move back in our stuff again for us to sleep in the room coz it took us another 3 wks again before they come back,so we have to move out our stuff again. They ripped off the new painted drywall..put it back..and left it just like that!rough with mud and WITHOUT PAINT! again with their famous line..”we don’t do that”! or maybe..that’s just how they treat the minorities like us. Lifetime warranty huh,,lifetime inconvenience. And by the way, during their process of tearing apart the drywalls the first time, someone hit and cut off the electrical wire for power outlet with a recip saw and didn’t even say a word! We only found out when we were setting up the place after their work.Dishonest. Doesn’t care. Unreliable.read more
